High flux LED dimmer and remote controller

The customer’s requirement was for a four channel high flux LED dimmer pack which could take a nominal 12V input from a battery bank and provide four controllable constant current drives to the LEDs at up to 1A, with a voltage limit of 25V. The LED operating logic and brightness is controlled from a separate control panel which may be situated up to 500m away from the dimmer pack. EMC considerations for the output drive were critical for this project as the luminaires and dimmer pack may be separated by a considerable length of cable, which could act as an unintentional radiator. The input voltage and unit operating temperature also need to be monitored and system operation modified if they fall outside of acceptable limits.
